A national toy store chain was founded 35 years ago in Madrid and in 2018 was acquired by one of the fastest-growing, family-owned high street toy retailer in the UK. The chain which has 57 toy stores and an online store, developed a new concept store which included introducing screens to start the digitalisation of the in-store consumer experience by connecting stores to online-commerce platforms and social networks; all this enabled continued growth via innovation and to provide enhanced customer service.
REQUIREMENT
The toy store chain needed to perform
inventories in the majority of the stores, so required RGIS to provide the following:
- A schedule to be in place
within two weeks of initial meetings

Complete 44 store counts in six weeks

No disruption to business

Working together with the store staff, as one team

Count all stock in each store including back or store rooms

Provide reporting to show total stock from all stores by store location
SOLUTION
The toy store chain partnered with RGIS to complete the
toy store inventory project, and provided the following:
- Scheduled a team of
eight experienced RGIS auditors per store

Organised all 44 stores to be counted within the six week time frame
- All toys in all departments were
counted by barcode

Variance checking completed on-site
RESULTS
The toy store chain found by outsourcing the
toy store inventory project to RGIS, the following results were achieved:
- Accurately counted an average
24,000 items per store

Over 1,000,000 items counted in total
